What is the Junior League of Little Rock ?
The Junior League is an organization of women committed to building better communities and developing trained volunteers.
For 91 years, the Junior League of Little Rock has been the driving force behind the kinds of initiatives and institutions that make our community a healthier, more vital place to live. Over 1,000 JLLR members, reflecting a wide range of backgrounds, interests, and professional pursuits, work together to identify unmet needs, forge effective coalitions, and work for change. Time and time again, the Junior League is among the first organizations to step up to the plate and tackle a community's biggest challenges.JLLR has endowed the Little Rock community with numerous organizations and projects: The Arkansas Arts Center, Riverfest, Potluck, Museum of Discovery, Gaines House, Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS), Parents Center, Seven on Your Side, to name a few.
Over the years, the League has raised funds through follies, cookbooks, thrift shops and sales, holiday markets and our membership dues.
Why the Downtown Dash?
This League year marks JLLR’s 93rd year of service in Little Rock. As JLLR moves toward its 100th year, the organization will move to execute a new ten-year strategic plan.
The 10K/5K will allow JLLR the opportunity to further our mission and strategic plan in the monies raised, in the training opportunities provided to our members and in the ability to promote the Junior League’s commitment to nutrition and wellness.
